Trap and Skeet Hours

The shotgun ranges are now open for the season.

The Trap range is open on Wednesday from 1:00 until sunset, and on Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00.
The Skeet fields are open on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4:00.

I received errant directions of the CCGC location from the SHOOTATA.com website. After driving downtown Topeka looking for the CCGC I stopped at a Reilly's Auto parts store and the personnel there were very helpful in locating a Brad (don't know last name) in giving me the correct directions. I was told by the contact person listed on the ATA website that the ranges are open from noon until dark This page says the ranges are open until 5:00 but the drive entrance board (nice) read 4:00. I arrived at the entrance at 4:01. Needless to say that dick's Sporting Goods and Wal-Mart know nothing of the CCGC and that is a shame. Pamphlets or flyers should be made there of your facilities as well as educating the sport stores. I am from Kalamazoo, Mich. and was hoping to shoot at the CCGC. But alas I will be shooting at Smithville 4/7/07 instead. Sorry, just a little frustrated.

Thank you for your attempting to shoot at our facility. Please accept our apologies for the lack of accurate information, and the conflicting information that you encountered. We have a new Trap Chairman this year, and he has made some changes. I will let him know about your unfortunate situation.

For the record, the latest information regarding shotgun hours is as follows:

Weather permitting

Trap;
Wednesday - 1:00 until sunset. Saturday - Noon until 4:00.

Skeet;
Saturday and Sunday - Noon until 4:00.

Depending on attendance, weather, and range officer, the ranges will sometimes open earlier and close later than the stated hours.
