Hello, I would like to join the club but I do not know any members. What does everyone suggest that I should do to meet some members that I could use as references? Some personal information about myself: I am 38 yo male living in Topeka, I am a lifetime NRA member, I am a RN at a local hospital, I took my CC class at CCGC about 7 years ago and enjoyed the atmosphere of the club. I have a passion for shooting and learning all that I can about the sport. I enjoy high power rifles, handguns, and shotguns. Thanks Tony

That is a tough one.
If you like to shoot IDPA, USPSA you can attend a few of the matches. You'll get a chance to meet folks and many that shoot those matches are members. Check the events calendar. You'll need to attend a safety briefing to actually shot in any of the matches. Click pistol at the top of the home page then click on one of the logos. Or any one of the other matches held at Cap City.
That's the way many of us got to know some of the members.
Perhaps contact the membership chairman, Morey Steinlicht at 785-286-2292 morey@capitalcitygunclub.com and see what he suggests.

Hoginme, As Warriorknitter suggested, you may try contacting Mr. Stienlicht. The board was considering an interview process for individuals that were lacking references. I do not know if it is in place yet. Good luck.

Thanks all for the replies. I am more interested in just coming out on my own time and shooting targets. I am not into match shooting but would not mind watching some. I have emailed MR. Stienlicht and have not gotten a response as of yet about options. Thanks, Tony

I am also looking at the possibility of joining but don't believe I know anyone that is a member. Or maybe I do and just don't know it. So, email the board member, or attend an event and chat it up with some members? For reference, I am 30 years old with a wife and 2 young children. Have taken the CCH course and am waiting on my permit approval. I'm not interested in the current moment, or would be any good, at any competitive matches, but isn't out of the range of possibility as my knowledge and skills expand. Thanks for the tips above and any others would be greatly appreciated!
