Hello... i am looking for a good safe place to shoot my AR-15 and i just have a few quick questions.
1) what kind of ammo is approved to use on your rifle range? I seen that steel core is not allowed.. is there any other that is not allowed such as FMJ?
2) I have seen your event schedule and was wondering what days and times are you open to come out and shoot if i become a member that is not on that schedule, or are we only allowed to shoot on those days?
3) Can i purchase ammo at the gun club when i come to shoot if i become a member?

Steel core is the only ammo not allowed. FMJ is allowed, HP, frangabiles, reloads, etc.
You are welcome to come and shoot anytime the hi-power range or any other range you wish to use is not being used for an event. The ranges used for an event are always marked on the calendar. In my experience I've not come out to the range to an unscheduled event. So if no event is marked out, the range is available.
Most events are just in the morning and are usually over by midday or shortly thereafter. There are a few events such as Women on Target where all the ranges are used all day but they are always on the calendar.
There are no provisions to sell ammo or other shooting supplies at the club. You need to bring your own stuff —ammo, paper targets (although sometimes you can get lucky and find one or two unshot or with very few holes and there are always the gongs at 200 yards!), staple gun & staples or tape to attach your paper targets to the backboard, etc.
Hope this helps! Hope to see you out there one of these days!
